What is the broccoli extract powder?
Broccoli extract is extracted from the seeds of B. oleracea of Magnoliopsida, Brassicales, Brassicaceae, Brassica, the most important component of which is sulforaphane, an isothiocyanate composed of glucosinolates Glucosinlates (Glu, hereinafter referred to as glucosinolates) are hydrolyzed by myrosinase enzyme in plants, and their molecular formula is C6H11NOS2. Sulforaphane is abundant in cruciferous plants such as broccoli, kale, and northern carrots. It is a common antioxidant and the plant active substance with the best anti-cancer effect found in vegetables. Sulforaphane is insoluble in water, but is easily soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, dichloromethane, and acetonitrile. It is easily decomposed under high temperature and alkaline conditions. Glucosinolates and myrosinase are stably present in plant tissue cells and vacuoles respectively. Sulforaphane can only be hydrolyzed when plant tissue is destroyed.
